The GUI version of the PowerVR SDK can be run in mac through Wine.  Wine Bottler does a good job of abstracting the messiness.  But, as Anthony sais, Apples tool does now include the header.  Still, if you like messing around with the compression and seeing the results and don&#039;t want to bother with another pc or running windows, Wine handles it with class. :)

Looks like Apple updated their TextureTool recently and not included the PVR header info if you use the -f flag for &#039;PVR&#039; format.

Apple&#039;s doc says:
&quot;This PVR format is the same format that the PVRTexTool from the Imagination Technologies PowerVR SDK produces, and requires parsing to obtain the actual texture data. See the PVRTextureLoader sample for an example of working with texture data in this format.&quot;
